1939 Kenton, Gene Autry Repeating Cap Pistol in Original Box
Spectacular near mint+ example of Kenton's, Jr. Model Gene Autry Repeating Cap Pistol complete with original photo box. High grade excellent+ to near mint box beautifully compliments unused condition of the pistol. Pre-war toy cap gun is solid nickel plated cast iron. Weighs just slightly over 1lb. Gene Autry signature in raised metal just above rear of trigger guard. Features red plastic grips with Gene's facsimile signature written in silver paint on each side. Both grips are original. Both signatures are also original without any touch-up. Barrel and frame open easily to reveal sparkling clean cap chamber. Interior finish is all original. Toy has never fired a single cap and has no sulfurous odor. Classic red, white, and blue photo box is complete with all six original endflaps firmly attached. Main panels divided into three sections with circular photo of Gene slightly off center. Includes photo of pistol in upper right corner with schematic of opened chamber, illustration of Gene on horseback with film cameraman in lower right corner, and toy name in left half. Made by Kenton Hardware Company and company address printed on side panels. Endflaps repeat toy name and motto "a real cowboy gun". Size: 6½" x 3½". Sold: Jan. 2008
